Bemis, Samuel Flagg

Историк, один из ведущих специалистов в области истории внешней политики и дипломатии. Получил степень доктора философии [Ph.D.] в Гарварде [Harvard University] (1916). Преподавал в нескольких колледжах, с 1935 - профессор истории дипломатии Йельского университета [Yale University]. Дважды удостоен Пулитцеровской премии [Pulitzer Prize] - за историческое исследование "Договор Пинкни" ["Pinckney's Treaty" (Pinckney's Treaty)] (1926, переизд. 1960) и биографию Дж. К. Адамса [Adams, John Quincy] "Джон Куинси Адамс и основы американской внешней политики" ["John Quincy Adams and the Foundations of American Foreign Policy"] (1950).
